In China, there are a total of 56 ethnic groups and 85 different languages. This shows the rich cultural heritage of our country. However, it also reflects the huge difficulty in communication among differnt ethnic groups and with other countries. Just imagine, anybody that needs to work with other ethnic groups must learn the language of that ethnic group. This will introduce inefficiency and weaken the level of coordination. Similarly, other countries are required to learn many different languages of our ethnic groups in order to establish international relationship with China. As proven in many other countries that are multiracial, such as USA, the best way to deal with the communication barrier is to establish a common language for all different ethnic groups.
